The hermaphroditic mating makes it possible to “daisy chain” cable assemblies without using any interconnect adapters. The specific lens design guarantees a large beam diameter and a low loss connection, less sensitive to dirt and dust.

Amphenol SOCAPEX CTOS is an expanded beam fiber optic connector available in singlemode and multimode. Designed for gloved handling and blind mating in the most extreme conditions, its features include up to 4 channels, a hermaphroditic design, a protective window with contactless transmission, and qualification in accordance with NATO/STANAG4290 norms.
