The USB Type C AOC extender combines fiber optics and copper conductors in a single hybrid cable, enabling USB 3.2 Gen 2 performance up to 10 Gbps with no latency or signal loss. Unlike conventional copper USB cables, which are limited to just 1 meter at full speed, the Amphenol Socapex solution supports lengths up to 15 meters, providing engineers with unprecedented design flexibility.

A new COTS interconnect system exceeding VITA 78 standards has officially met every requirement for space-related missions.

Amphenol Socapex unveils SpaceVPX, engineered for the systems that are not allowed to fail.

Space VPX connectors are especially designed for spatial application, unlike standard VPX connectors, the VITA 78 SpaceVPX is optimized for extreme environments: it operates under extreme temperatures (-55 °C to +105 °C), it has been tested for outgassing to NASA/ESA requirements and has passed vibration testing and shock testing according to VITA 72. It is also designed for use in radiation-exposed systems and assembled with materials compatible with harsh space conditions.

The last improvement but not the least, SpaceVPX is based on OpenVPX architecture and uses special wafer configurations that provide fault-tolerant and redundant connectivity for critical space missions.

Amphenol Industrial Operations announces the Floating Mate Connector Series, a compact, high-current hybrid interface engineered for modular battery architectures where drawers, slide-in power shelves, or serviceable energy modules connect reliably at the rack or cabinet level. As energy storage systems (ESS) and electrified platforms continue to increase power density within tighter mechanical envelopes, designers adopt modular, replaceable building blocks to reduce downtime and simplify maintenance. The Floating Mate Connector Series supports that approach by combining high-voltage power contacts and low-voltage signal positions into a single connection point intended for repeatable insertion and removal.

In many rack and cabinet designs, the connection interface limits assembly efficiency, service workflows, and long-term reliability. Harness complexity, restricted access inside enclosures, and tolerance stack-up across rails and frames make traditional manual plug-and-cable approaches difficult to standardize. The Floating Mate Connector Series uses a floating engagement concept intended to support consistent blind mating in drawer-style designs, reducing the number of individual connections technicians manage during both initial build and field servicing.

Modern battery drawers often require both main DC paths and low-voltage signal lines for monitoring and control. By integrating power and signal into one hybrid interface, the series reduces connector count, streamlines harness routing, and improves repeatability in cabinet layouts where space and cable management are constrained. Built around proven RADSOK® contact technology, the series is available in 2+12, 4+12, and 4+12 Mini layouts and supports up to 120 A per power contact and 1,000–1,500 VDC designs (variant-dependent). Safety-focused features include a finger-proof (IP2XB) power interface and first-mate/last-break positions for grounding or interlock-style functions. The series supports –40 °C to +125 °C operation and references UL 4128, TÜV 2PfG2740, and IEC 61984 for teams that consider standards alignment as part of design validation.

Designed for high-power electrified and hybrid applications with elevated thermal, mechanical, and electrical stresses, TS1 supports a wide range of platforms across the industrial, transportation, and commercial sectors, as well as energy storage systems used in applications like data centers and power transformers.

The TS1 Series combines a full metal shell and metal latching mechanism with 360° electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding.
