Over the past 20 years, Amphenol has developed an extensive range of SIM and micro SD card readers which come in several different configurations including Simlocks, wing and bridge blocks, standard sim and SD blocks, with or without shielding protection, with or without integrated detect switch, float or SMT mounting. More recently, Amphenol has also engineered combined versions of sim and microSD connectors, featuring EMI shielding, tray with push-eject, push-pull or push-push mechanism, and integrated detect switches. Those are developed under Amphenol specific modular system which allows high design flexibility, fast time to market, and high reliability by assembling pre-existing mass production components into a customized shield. This modular concept also permits combination of sims and SD cards such as 2+1, 3 chose 2, 3 in line, etc…

Ceramic Injection Molding (CIM)

Amphenol's CIM process uses ceramic zirconium to provide a scratch and wear resistant surface to components such as mobile phone camera decoration and side keys.  The CIM material provides additional durability and strength in your products.  We have applied our Metal Injection Molding (MIM) experience of large volume runs to CIM to create a hi-tech material process and provide various MIM/CIM solutions to mobile consumer product customers.

Metal Injection Molding (MIM)

Amphenol produces high quality parts with over 90% metal density through our metal injection molding (MIM) process.  The MIM process provides greater flexibility in design complexity, prevents corrosion, and provides a resistant polish.  It allows us to produce large runs with a very low material waste.  The MIM process is used on components of various applications including mobile phones, laptops, and industrial and automotive platforms.
