This device is aimed to applications that need on-field arbitrary initial and final travel reference points calibration. Once these have been set, the A15-3P provides accurate position feedback output to the controller.

DCM-PT15 detented potentiometer.

The combination of the well-known PT15/PTC15/PS15 control potentiometers with a Detent Control Mechanism (DCM) affords the appliance designer the possibility to solder the potentiometer onto the Control PCB assembly and then, in a second operation, assemble the DCM over it. This removes the need to build Detents into the User front panel of the appliance, simplifying, and significantly reducing the total cost of the solution.

The detent torque can be modified according to Customer requirements (depending on the input dial’s diameter, etc) as can the number and position of the detents.

Thermometrics CL Series of Inrush Current Limiting Thermistors

Thermometrics CL Series of Inrush Current Limiting Thermistors consist of a disc thermistor with uninsulated lead-wires, and are used to control inrush current when switching power supplies. The main purpose of limiting inrush current is to prevent components in series with the input to the DC/DC convertor from being damaged. Typically, inrush protection prevents nuisance blowing of fuses or breakers as well as welding of switch contacts.

Hall Effect non contact sensor.

Designed with the sensor directly mounted onto a PCB, the innovative MTS-360 Sensor/PCB Combo package allows engineers to easily mount a fully featured rotary sensor without first having to design a printed circuit board for the sensor. The result is time-savings and convenience.
 
The MTS-360 Sensor/PCB assembly is available with or without 2.54 mm pitch connector, both easily secured with standard M3 screws.  The entire assembly measures just 35mm wide by 36mm long, allowing for applications with tight packaging constraints.  

The new MTS-360PCB Mechanical Mount sensor model incorporates all the breakthrough sensor technology performance features of the original MTS-360 by merging a through-shaft design with 360º absolute position feedback in a small size package.  The result is an extremely small fully featured rotary sensor with reliability up to 50 million cycles.   The MTS-360 relies on patented Hall effect technology to enable true non-contacting through-hole shaft sensing now using a simple three eared mounting. The standard model features a 4mm double D-flat through-hole and (3) slotted mounting holes allowing final rotational adjustment at assembly.

Ultra Miniature SMD Rotary Sensor

The MTS360 provides a true breakthrough in contactless sensor technology by combining a through-shaft design with 360º absolute position feedback in an ultra miniature size. The result is the smallest fully featured rotary sensor on the market with reliability up to 25 million cycles.

The MTS 360 relies on patented Hall effect technology to enable for the first time true non-contacting through-hole shaft sensing using standard SMD features. 

The device offers electrical angles up to 360° with no dead band and linearity as low as ±0.5%. Rated for use at -40ºC to +150ºC, the sensor can operate up to 300 rpms and can be programmed with full scale output with angles shorter than 360 degrees. Output is selectable between Analog, PWM 12 bits or Serial Protocol (SPI) at 14 bits and includes a second output channel to provide a programmable switch signal. A redundant version with a dual core sensor in the same package is also available.

Outside Air Temperature Sensor (OAT)

Thermometrics Outside Air Temperature Sensor (OAT) measures the temperature outside of a vehicle's passenger compartment. It relays the outside air temperature to the controller of the automatic HVAC system. The controller uses this temperature to help control the interior temperature of the vehicle. The sensor also provides the vehicle occupants with temperature readings from outside the car. This information is particularly useful when driving under near-freezing or freezing conditions. The sensor is usually mounted inside or near the front bumper or in the side mirror.

Potentiometers with detents

This product family has been specifically developed to allow the integration of otherwise large and expensive external mechanisms into the body of the majority of the 6, 10 & 15 mm potentiometer series thus allowing a high range of configurations: special tapers, tolerances, linearity, cut track, etc.

This detent design not only adds a "click" sensation of position, but also offers enormous savings in both cost and space for any given application.

Strong and weak detents can be mixed as per cutomer´s request.

- Replacement for:
    • Existing customer detent mechanisms.
    •  Multi-pole switches.
    •  3 or 4-bit absolute encoders (connecting to microprocessor analogue input).

P1602 Pressure Sensor Die

The NovaSensor P1602 Pressure Sensor Die is a piezoresistive pressure sensor offered in a miniature die. When excited with 1 mA constant current, the P1602 produces a millivolt output that is proportional to input pressure. The P1602 is available as an absolute pressure sensor, where the applied pressure is referenced to an internal vauum sealed within the die. With NovaSensor SenStable®, the P1602 will provide very low long-term stability erros and excellent repeatability.

Printed Resistors PCB are thick-film resistive ink elements designed around customers’ unique assemblies. PIHER’s thick film inks can be printed on a wide range of substrates — from high temperature ceramics to common PCB materials. 

Our market-leading thick-film technology can be used to deposit any combination of fixed resistors, switches, sensors, potentiometer tracks and conductors onto virtually any size, shape or PCB form. This versatility offers an enormous range of design possibilities at

Once screened and cured, these resistive tracks can be individually laser trimmed to obtain very accurate tolerances in high volume.

The sensor can be processed by standard automated placement equipment and reflow (or lead-free reflow) soldered. For applications where rotor angle is critical, locating pins are available. 

The PS15 Series is available with seven different rotor designs and 15 shaft styles. This offering allows Piher to configure a custom sensing solution for virtually any control or position feedback requirement.  The result is a customized sensor that maximizes board density, reduces weight and eases assembly while achieving the engineer’s critical sensor design goals for the application. 

A wide range of options, including up to 38 detents, allows further customization.  Detents not only add a crisp "click" sensation for each position without affecting the original sensor specification or performance, but also offer significant savings in both cost and space; and are particularly advantageous in industrial and domestic power tool applications to prevent accidental movement.
