R58 (M83733 Equivalent)

The Amphenol R58 series are high-performance environment-resistant, rectangular connectors designed to be compatible with allMIL-DTL-83733 connectors and Amphenol Canada is M83733 equivalent and the only qualified supplier for the Mil Spec JN1122.
This connector is well suited for hostile military and commercial avionics environments where shielding effectiveness and corrosion resistance is mandatory. This series is available both filtered and non-filtered. Filtering is achieved using Amphenol Canada stress isolated capacitor technology. Applications include Blind mate, cable to cable and cable to box connections in Military avionics, targeting PODS and wing pylons.

The connectors are available in two shell sizes with a variety of hard and spring mounting configurations.

Shells are machined aluminum alloy with several finish options, including Olive Drab Chromate over Cadmium, and Electroless Nickel.
Insulators are a high grade, plastic to MIL-M-14. Silicone rubber is used for grommets, inter-facial seals and peripheral seals.
Filtered versions are also available (458 Series).

Aerostructure Cable Assemblies

Build to specification and/or build to print requirements can be addressed from Digital Mock-Up data (DMU) to form boards of electrical harnesses in all aerostructure applications. This will include wiring diagrams, product change management, configuration management and electrical testing. An EWIS responsibility (Electrical Wiring Interconnect Systems) can be proposed to customers, including aircraft certification support with the supply of EASA form 1, integration into the aircraft when requested, obsolescence management, maintenance and technical assistance over the total program flying period.

ARINC 801 Fiber Optic Termini

Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) offers a fully-compliant ARINC 801 fiber optic terminus for aerospace and military applications. The AFSI ARINC 801 uses a standard 1.25 mm ferrule and sleeve and can be terminated with standard LC termination procedures. The terminus can be inserted, or removed, from the connector with a standard size 16 contact removal tool. The terminus is available in both multimode and single mode versions. The fiber optic contact provides low insertion loss (0.3 dB max, multimode) and backreflection (-55 dB, APC). In addition to the standard PC end-face option, AFSI’s ARINC 801 is offered with an APC end-face for those applications requiring reduced backreflection. 

The terminus is highly flexible and is used primarily in ARINC 801, 600, 404, 781 and EPXA/B multi-channel connectors. The fiber optic contact is offered in with a pull-proof feature (allows the use of the contact in a connector without a strain-relief backshell) configuration, for both tight and loose tube cable.

P1905 Backside Absolute Pressure Sensor Die

The NovaSensor P1905 Backside Absolute Pressure Sensor Die is a piezoresistive sensor die designed for absolute pressure measurements in aggressive (harsh) media. The die has a reference vacuum chamber formed by hermetic low-stress bonding of silicon cap to the top side of device wafer. By applying pressure from backside of the die, P1905sensor die eliminates the direct contact of sensor circuitry on top side with the applied media, which allows the P1905 die to measure pressure in aggressive liquids and gases. With NovaSensor’s SenStable® process, P1905 die features excellent long-term stability and repeatability (< 0.1% / year typ.).

D38999 Fiber Optic / Hybrid Cable Assemblies

Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) designs and manufactures world class harsh environment fiber optic connectors and cable assemblies for the military and aerospace markets. Cable assemblies built with D38999 connectors, used in military, avionics, and industrial applications, are a cornerstone offering in our industry leading product line, along with TFOCA-II®, M28876 and expanded beam cable assemblies.

The D38999 circular connector series is designed for harsh environments, particularly those with wide temperature ranges and high mechanical vibrations. This electrical connector is adapted for fiber optics by using M29504/4 and /5 termini. These termini fit into any size 16 contact cavity. 

Precise alignment is critical to fiber optic connectors. The tightly toleranced fiber optic D38999 connectors ensure precise alignment with precision machined polarization keys and keyways which reduce radial misalignment. This precision yields superior optical performance when compared to standard D38999 connectors. Tight tolerance D38999 connectors also have a positive bottoming surface and conductive surface plating, assuring exceptional EMI/RFI performance.

All D38999 connectors feature a non-conductive insert making this a great connector choice when optical fibers and electrical wires must be used in the same connector. The D38999 series offers a wide range of shell sizes, backshells and insert patterns. Standard contacts and termini are available making any design simple and cost-effective.

The Amphenol Air LB France EN4165 / SIM connectors (Modular Interconnection System) is a modular, multifunctional rectangular connector. LRM connectors

Amphenol's LRM (Line replaceable module) connector family offers the versatility to facilitate custom combinations of digital, fiber optics, RF, power, and special high speed inserts to meet individual customer requirements. The LRM connector family uses Bristle Brush contact technology, consisting of multiple strands of high tensile strength wire that is bundled together to form a "brush-like" contact.

Lumiére Fiber Optic Termini;Elio

Amphenol Fiber Systems International (AFSI) offers the Lumiére fiber optic terminus for commercial airframe, avionics and aerospace applications. AFSI's Lumiére termini are a direct replacement for ELIO® termini and are compatible with existing ELIO® connectors. This fiber optic contact utilizes a 2.5mm diameter field-proven ceramic ST type ferrule which can be inserted into a size #16 cavity.

The terminus is hermaphroditic allowing the use of the same contact on the receptacle or plug. In addition, the contact is available in both multi-mode and single mode
versions and an anti-rotation feature allows PC, UPC and APC polishes. Because the Lumiére uses a standard ST type ferrule, well known procedures and readily available tools can be used for termination. Long and short boot versions are available to support multiple connector types.

Amphenol also manufactures a full line of EN 4531 rectangular and cylindrical connectors to house the Lumiére termini.

M29504/4 & /5 Fiber Optic Termini

Amphenol Fiber Systems International’s (AFSI) M29504/4 & /5 style fiber optic termini, the M29K1000 and M29L1000 series, provide superior optical and mechanical performance. Designed to fit into MIL-DTL-38999 Series III, pin size 16 connectors, this low-cost, high-precision terminus family is ideal for harsh environment fiber optic interconnections. Available for single mode and multimode applications, these termini conform to the rigorous conditions of the MIL-PRF-29504D specification. The M29K1000 and M29L1000 series termini utilize the highest quality zirconia ceramic ferrules and split alignment sleeves available.

AFSI’s tight-tolerance ferrules are optimized for low insertion loss, low back reflection and exceptional durability. All ferrules are available in standard and ultra polished end faces for those tight optical budget applications. In addition, epoxy removal and polishing times are minimized by the ferrule’s pre-domed design feature. The M29L1000’s zirconia split alignment sleeve design ensures accurate physical contact, fiber-to-fiber alignment and guarantees the highest performing connector of its kind for use in a variety of demanding environmental conditions.

D38999 Series I connectors

The MIL-DTL-38999 Series I bayonet coupled circular connector provides high performance capabilities for both general duty and severe environmental applications. The 38999 Series I is a proven connector family for many applications. The crimp style MS version meets or exceeds MIL-DTL-38999 Series I. The solder style MS version meets or exceeds MIL-C-27599 Series I.

38999 Series II

Our MIL-DTL- 38999 Series III threaded circular connectors feature a unique inner clutch design providing enhanced anti-vibration and anti-decoupling capability - actually tightening itself under vibration, which provides advantages in hard to reach areas. Featuring quick coupling and low force mating in a single 360 degree turn of the coupling nut. Mates with standard Series III receptacles.

Amphenol Tri-Start MIL-DTL-38999 Series III / EN3645 thread coupling connectors offer the highest performance capabilities for both general duty and severe environment applications. Different versions are available: "TV" metal versions (aluminum, stainless steel or marine bronze) as well as "CTV" composite versions, which offer a lightweight, corrosion resistant connector with the same high performance features as its metal counterpart.

Matrix 5015

Amphenol's Matrix 5015 connectors with crimp rear release provides an alternative to the older MIL-C-5015 solder type. It bridges the gap between an old connector standard and the environmental high performance needs of current technologies.
